Riverside, Lake Elsinore, Norco 7-Eleven Robbers Tracked Down And Arrested

Jurupa Valley, Calif., On Sunday, Nov. 1, an armed robbery occurred at a 7-Eleven convenience store located in the 1800 block of Hamner Ave., Norco.
At about 2:05 a.m., deputies responded to the business after sheriff’s Central Dispatch Center received a call reporting the robbery.

Deputies arrived and secured the area while conducting a thorough search for the suspect, whom they were not able to locate that evening. The deputies conducted an initial investigation, during which they learned a white male adult entered the business while brandishing a firearm. Using his firearm and threats, the suspect demanded cash from the employee.
The suspect left the business on foot, then fled the area in a vehicle that was waiting nearby. The vehicle was seen being driven by a second suspect.
According to Sgt. Justin Rowan, of the Riverside County Sheriff Department, the victim was not injured during the robbery.
Investigators assigned to the Jurupa Valley Station assumed control of this investigation. With the assistance of the Jurupa Valley Station’s Crime Analyst and the Norco Sheriff Station’s Special Enforcement Team, investigators began developing investigative leads and conducting an extensive follow-up investigation.
Based on their combined investigations, the various teams determined the same suspect was suspected to have been responsible for several additional armed robberies that had been occurring in the cities of Lake Elsinore and Riverside.
Investigators assigned to the Jurupa Valley Station, with assistance from Investigators assigned to the Lake Elsinore Station and SWAT officers from the Riverside Police Department, were able to positively identify the adult male suspect. Using investigative leads as well as video surveillance, the teams determined who had committed the robberies as well as the juvenile male suspect who acted as his getaway driver.
JustenGranillo, an 18-year-old resident of Corona, arrested for 7 armed robberies and an attempted robbery.
The adult suspect was identified as Justen Josiah Granillo, an 18-year-old resident of Corona. The juvenile suspect was also identified by investigators, however, Due to the suspect being a juvenile, his name was not released by the sheriff’s department.
On Thursday, November 5, just four days after the most recently reported robbery, the juvenile suspect was located in the city of Riverside and arrested without incident.

On Friday, November 6, the teams tracked Granillo to the city of Corona and arrested him on Pallazza Lane without incident. Granillo was later booked into jail at the Robert Presley Detention Center for seven counts of 2nd degree armed robbery and one count of attempted 2nd degree robbery, all felonies. In a press release from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Sergeant Justin Rowan wrote, “The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is committed to the safety of the citizens of Norco and will be vigilant in investigating all crimes of this nature.”
Continuing, Sgt. Rowan wrote, “This investigation is ongoing and we’re asking anyone with additional information to contact Master Investigator J. Merrill at the Jurupa Valley Station at (951) 955-2600.”
