Riverside Woman Wakes To Intruder inside Her Bedroom
On Nov. 14, a Riverside area woman awoke in the middle of the night to find a man standing in her bedroom.
At approximately 4:43 a.m., the Riverside Police Dispatch Center received the call about the reported intruder.
Riverside Police Officers immediately responded to the 6800 block of Comstock Avenue after receiving the call. While officers verified the safety of the victim and ensured the intruder was no longer at the residence, other officers scoured the area, searching for the suspect. The suspect was not located during the subsequent search of the area.
During their initial investigation, officers learned the suspect was a White or Hispanic male adult, described as being in his 20’s to early 30’s. Officers also learned the victim awoke shortly after 4:30 a.m., to find the suspect standing inside the victim’s bedroom. The suspect fled the residence when the victim began screaming for help.
Detectives from the Sexual Assault/ Child Abuse Unit along with personnel from the Forensics Unit responded to the residence to conduct further investigation. With assistance from the victim, detectives were able to complete a composite sketch of the suspect.
