HEMET – Hemet PD Makes Arrest In Devonshire Homicide

HEMET – On December 8, a medical aid call for a possibly deceased person turned into a homicide investigation.
At approximately 7:21 p.m., The Hemet Police/Fire Communications Center received a 911 call from a residence in the 2700 block of West Devonshire Ave. The caller stated a resident was found unresponsive inside residence.
Based on the information provided by the caller, the call was initially dispatched to Hemet Fire Department and AMR as a medical aid.
Upon arrival Hemet Fire personnel discovered the victim, a 51-year-old female, identified as Guyloretta Baldwin obviously deceased.

Hemet Fire personnel requested officers from the Hemet Police Department to respond to the location. Upon arrival, officers confirmed the observations of Hemet Fire personnel and contacted detectives, who assumed the investigation
Based on evidence located and recovered at the scene, the death was determined to be a homicide.
According to a press release from the Hemet Police Department, early in their investigation, detectives began to focus on Baldwin’s husband, identified as Andre Baldwin, 46-years-old, as a person of interest in this case. Baldwin was not present at the home when the incident was reported and had not been seen in the days since.
At approximately 11:00 AM, on Friday December 11, detectives developed information that led them to the 9900 block of County Farm Road in Riverside where Andre Baldwin was possibly staying. Detectives located and detained Baldwin for further investigation.
Based on their investigation, detectives arrested Baldwin he was later charged with homicide in the death of his wife. Baldwin was also booked on a number of different felony and misdemeanor charges related to this investigation.
Baldwin was booked at the Hemet Police jail and later transported to the Southwest Detention Center. He is currently being held without bail. Baldwin is expected to be in court on Dec. 15.

During their initial assessment of the victim, Hemet Fire personnel discovered injuries on the victim that led them to immediately believe the victim had not died of natural causes.
Hemet Fire personnel requested officers from the Hemet Police Department to respond to the location. Upon arrival, officers confirmed the observations of Hemet Fire personnel and contacted detectives, who assumed the investigation
Based on evidence located and recovered at the scene, the death was determined to be a homicide.
