RIVERSIDE : Two men, one dressed as a woman, stopped during casing investigation-one suspect arrested

RIVERSIDE – On Dec. 14, Riverside Police officer stopped two men, one of whom was dressed as a woman, after the two were seen possibly casing a bank. One of the men was a felon armed with a gun and he was subsequently arrested for eight felony and one misdemeanor charges related to the weapons possession.

At about 2:00 p.m., members of the East Neighborhood Policing Center were conducting the Holiday Enforcement Program in the Orangecrest community near Van Buren Boulevard and Trautwein Road, in the city of Riverside.

While on preventative patrol in the area, officers observed Ryan Sorlien driving a 1990 Green Ford Bronco which had a license plate that was designated for a different vehicle. While officers were watching, they observed Glenn Clark exit the vehicle disguised as a women and enter a nearby bank.

Upon Clark’s return to the vehicle, both departed the parking lot in the green Bronco and as the two left the area, they were stopped by officers.

During their investigation, officers found Sorlien to be armed with a handgun. A records check showed both Sorlien and Clark to have extensive criminal histories. Both were detained by officers while they conducted a follow-up investigation.

Based on their investigation, officers determined Clark had not committed a crime and he was subsequently released.

However, Sorlien, 33-years-old, the driver of the vehicle, was arrested and booked into jail for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm . Sorlien was booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional facility, where he was being held in lieu of $70,000 bail. Sorlien is scheduled to be in court on Dec. 28, at 8:30 a.m., at the Riverside Hall Of Justice.
