HEMET: Armed home invasion robbery leads to arrest of one suspect and search for others

HEMET – An early morning, armed, home invasion robbery in Hemet on January 3 has led to one arrest and the recovery of some of the property that was stolen during the incident. According to sheriff’s officials, at least one, possibly two suspects still remain at large.
According to Sergeant Robert Duckett of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, on Sunday morning, at around 5:30 a.m., deputies from the Hemet Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to the 41000 block of Shadow Mountain Way regarding the report of a home invasion robbery that had just occurred.

The victims reported two adult males knocked on their door and then forced their way into the residence when one of the victims opened the door. According to the two victims, both suspects were brandishing handguns and threatening them during the violent encounter.
One of the suspects forced the victims into a bedroom at gunpoint, while the second suspect stole property from inside the residence. The armed suspects then fled the home in an older white Nissan Pathfinder, which was possibly being driven by a third suspect.
Vincent Jackson of Hemet was arrested for several felonies, including home invasion robbery.
During their investigation, deputies determined Vincent Jackson, 37-years-old from Hemet, was one of the suspects who had forced their way into the victims’ home. Deputies located Jackson at his residence on Yale St. in Hemet. During a subsequent search of Jackson’s home, deputies located some of the victims’ stolen property as well as a pellet gun that was believed to have been used during the robbery.
Jail records indicated Jackson was arrested at about 4:00 p.m., less than twelve hours after the crime was committed. He was booked into the Smith Correctional Facility for home invasion robbery, kidnapping, and using a firearm during the commission of a serious felony.
Jackson’s bail was set at $250,000 and he is scheduled to be arraigned on Jan. 6.
According to Sergeant Duckett, “The other suspect(s) are still outstanding and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information related to this incident is encouraged to call Investigator Dorrough at (951) 791-3400.”
