NORCO: Suspect arrested for alleged involvement in numerous burglaries

NORCO – Multiple burglaries committed in the cities of Norco and Eastvale led to a suspect being identified for his alleged involvement in each. That suspect was arrested on a felony warrant related to one of those investigations on Jan. 9.
The lengthy investigation began in Nov. 2015, when deputies investigated a commercial burglary in the 13800 block of Citrus St., in the city of Eastvale. During the course of that initial investigation, deputies developed several potential suspect leads.
Later the same month, deputies conducted an investigation into a person suspected of a number of crimes, including possession of stolen property, mail theft, and possession of burglary tools. The suspect in that investigation was identified as Casey Whitley, 34, of Norco. At the conclusion of that investigation, Whitley was arrested but later released from custody.
In Dec. 2015, deputies investigated a burglary at a church, located in the 2300 block of Fifth St., in the city of Norco. During that investigation, numerous leads were developed that further pointed to one suspect.
In a press release from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Sergeant John Del Valle wrote that an extensive investigation determined Casey Whitley had been involved in each of the reported crimes. Based on their investigation and evidence collected, deputies obtained an arrest warrant for Whitley’s involvement in the originally reported Eastvale burglary.
Whitley was located and arrested on Jan. 9 by Riverside Police officers for the outstanding warrant and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center.
A jail records check revealed Whitley was booked into jail on a number of charges, including multiple felonies including burglary, false impersonation, failure to return rental property and false impersonation for monetary gain. Whitley was also booked on 15 additional misdemeanor charges, numerous counts each of possession of a controlled substance, possession of burglary tools, petty theft, failure to appear and others.
