Wanted felons arrested by Hemet Police officers following residential burglary and foot pursuit

HEMET – An early morning 911 call about a residential burglary occurring in the 900 block of Dandelion Way led to the arrest of two wanted felons. The arrests followed a foot pursuit and yard to yard search for the alleged suspects.
Hemet Police officers responded to the report of an in-progress burglary on Thursday, Feb. 4, at about 6:30 a.m. A terrified resident of the home had reportedly barricaded himself inside a bathroom at the residence and “was giving 911 dispatchers critical updates,” according to Hemet Police officials.
Minutes later, Hemet Police officers arrived at the home and saw two subjects flee from the residence. The first arriving officers pursued the fleeing subjects, while other officers began converging on the area to assist and set up a perimeter.
“The subjects ran through multiple back yards and jumped over several fences,” police officials wrote about the incident. “However, they were located after several bystanders pointed out their last known direction of travel.”
Kenneth Robinson, 18, of San Bernardino was arrested by HPD for several felonies.
Officers detained the two subjects, who they identified as Kenneth Kevon Robinson, an 18-year-old resident of San Bernardino and Fernando Palomera-Montes, a 19-year-old resident of Rialto.
According to official reports, Officers detained Robinson on Indian Grass Dr. at 6:43 a.m., and they located Palomera-Montes on West Fruitvale Ave a short time later, at 7:03 a.m.
Robinson and Palomera-Montes were detained without further incident, according to police officials.
Following their investigation, officers arrested Robinson and Palomera-Montes. They were both booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility for their alleged involvement in the residential burglary.
A press release from Hemet Police officials indicated both of the subjects have prior arrests for burglary. Additionally, both had felony warrants for their arrest.
A jail records search showed Robinson was booked for first degree burglary as well as for a warrant related to a previous, unrelated residential burglary.
Hemet Police officer arrested Palomera-Montes, 19, of Rialto, after a residential burglary and foot pursuit.
Palomera-Montes was booked for first degree burglary and committing a crime while on bail or release, as well as numerous other, unrelated charges, including drug possession, driving under the influence, reckless driving and several other misdemeanor crimes related to two separate warrants for his arrest.
A records search conducted on Feb. 5, the day after the burglary and foot pursuits, indicated both Robinson and Palomera-Montes had been released from custody earlier that day.
Robinson is schedule for arraignment on Mar. 21 at 7:30 a.m. Palomera-Montes’ arraignment is scheduled for Mar. 22, at 7:30 a.m.
