Man arrested again in Murrieta for possession of psilocybin, just 5 days after being released from jail

MURRIETA – Murrieta Special Enforcement Team detectives arrested a man on April 7, for his alleged involvement in selling illegal narcotics in Murrieta, according to a Murrieta Police official.

Special Enforcement Team detectives were conducting an ongoing narcotics-related investigation when the man allegedly conspired in arranging to sell psilocybin to undercover SET detectives, according to Murrieta Police Sergeant Reid.

At about 3:40 p.m., SET detectives located and detained the subject, identified as Caleb Anthony Silvera-Kuhnel, 19, in the area of the 40400 block of California Oaks Road.

Detectives conducted an investigation into Silvera-Kuhnel’s alleged involvement in narcotics sales. During a search, detectives found Silvera-Kuhnel was in possession of psilocybin. detectives also determined Silvera-Kuhnel was under the influence at the time of his arrest.

At the conclusion of their investigation, detectives arrested Silvera-Kuhnel and he was booked into the Southwest Detention Center.

A jail records search revealed Silvera-Kuhnel was booked into jail on suspicion of transportaion of narcotics with intent to sell and conspiracy to commit a felony.

The records check also revealed Silvera-Kuhnel had a previous recent arrest on March 27 that is still pending. In that incident, Silvera-Kuhnel was arrested for possession and transportation of narcotics for sale and public intoxication. In that incident, Silvera-Kuhnel was arrested near Calle Del Oso Oro and Washington, in Murrieta. He was released from jail on April 2, due to overcrowding, just five days before this most recent arrest.

Silvera-Kuhnel is being held in lieu of $30,000 baIl. He is scheduled to be arraigned on both unrelated cases on April 11, at 8 a.m., at the Southwest Justice Center.
