Two suspects flee after failed robbery attempt at San Jacinto CVS
SAN JACINTO – Two men tried unsuccessfully to rob a San Jacinto pharmacy Thursday, April 29. No one was reportedly injured during the attempted robbery and the business, a CVS Pharmacy located in the 100 block of South Sanderson Avenue, in San Jacinto, quickly returned to business.
Riverside County emergency communications dispatchers received the first of many calls regarding the failed robbery attempt at about 8:04 p.m. No less than five different citizens called 911 to report the incident and describe the suspects.
Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s San Jacinto Police Station responded to the reported incident and arrived within minutes of the initially dispatched call. While some deputies went straight to the store to check on the status of the victims at the pharmacy, other deputies and a sheriff’s helicopter searched the area for the suspect’s vehicle, which was described as an “older, dark-colored sedan.”
Responding deputies quickly determined two suspects entered the business and brandished a handgun at a store clerk. However, in spite of demanding money and threatening the clerk, the two men were unable to obtain any property from the business. After their unsuccessful attempt to rob the pharmacy, the two unidentified men fled the business in their car.
Witnesses described the suspects as two black male adults, approximately 20 years of age. Both were reportedly wearing dark-colored clothing.
Despite searching the area, deputies were unable to find the suspects or their vehicle.
