UPDATE 3
HEMET – Hemet Firefighters and other emergency first responders are on scene of a recreational vehicle fire near the Arroyo Fairway Mobile Home Park, located in the 42700 block of Florida Avenue, east of North Lake Street.
The fire was originally reported to City of Hemet emergency communications dispatchers about 8:40 p.m., as a mobile home that was on fire.
The location of the actual fire was later determined to be on Lake Street at a stop sign near Florida Avenue and involved a small RV that reportedly exploded. The cause of the explosion has not yet been determined.
One of the first emergency first responders to arrive at the location reported locating an RV was fully engulfed in flames and threatening power lines located directly above the blaze as well as nearby vegetation.
Officers immediately began to call for the closure of numerous streets around the mobile home park and called for the evacuation of several mobile homes located near the fully involved vehicle fire.
According to a fire official, firefighters from Hemet Fire Department and Cal Fire quickly contained the fire and there were no reported injuries. (See video below)
