James Condon was arrested for a felony warrant after he fled from an officer and resisted arrest.

The incident began at about 11 a.m. when a Hemet Police officer saw Condon and attempted to contact him. The officer recognized Condon and knew he was actively wanted on a violation of parole warrant for burglary.

As Condon saw the officer approaching, he immediately attempted to flee on foot. The officer chased the fleeing man; eventually tackling him down to the ground. After the officer tackled Condon, the wanted felon continued to resist the officer’s efforts to subdue him and he continued to fight with the officer.

After several minutes of grappling on the ground, the officer managed to overpower Condon and he took the man into custody. The officer was not injured during Condon’s arrest.

After the officer arrested Condon, he was transported to the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility where he was booked on suspicion of resisting arrest with violence, being under the influence of a controlled substance, and violation of parole, according to the release.

A jail records search revealed Condon is being held without bail and is scheduled to be seen at an unspecified court, June 3.
