Missing Perris man’s body found, victim died of multiple gunshot wounds
SAN BERNARDINO – San Bernardino Police officers located the body of a missing Perris man Saturday, Aug. 13. The victim’s body was discovered inside his own vehicle parked in the 1900 block of N. Flores Street just after 11:05 a.m., according to a San Bernardino police news release.
Coroner officials identified the victim as Jose Delatorre, 24, of Perris. Officials stated he appeared to have died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.
Officers were sent to the location after a woman called 911 to report a suspicious vehicle that had been parked in front of her residence for several days.
Officers conducted a records check of the license plates on Delatorre’s vehicle, at which time they learned his vehicle was part of a missing person’s case being investigated by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Officers soon discovered Delatorres’ body inside his vehicle. Based on the circumstances homicide detectives responded to the location and assumed the investigation.
As of Monday afternoon, police had not released any new information about the case, a motive for the deadly shooting or a potential suspect.
