SAN JACINTO: Truck overturns on Ramona Expressway after driver falls asleep at wheel
SAN JACINTO – A driver was uninjured when his truck overturned Tuesday evening, Jan. 3. The vehicle ended up in a ditch along Ramona Expressway east of N. Warren Road in San Jacinto.
The single vehicle, rollover accident happened when the driver reportedly fell asleep at the wheel and his vehicle overturned along the side of the roadway.
California Highway Patrol officers, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s San Jacinto Police station and other emergency first responders were dispatched to the scene of the accident about 5:16 p.m.
When deputies and Cal Fire/Riverside County firefighters arrived at the location, they found the driver already out of his overturned pickup truck, which was described as a tan Toyota.
The driver, who has not been identified, had minor complaints of pain; however, he was otherwise uninjured in the rollover accident.
AMR medics evaluated and treated the driver at the scene and he declined further treatment.
Traffic was backed up slightly as other motorists slowed to look at the overturned and wrecked truck.
As of 5:40 p.m., a tow truck was still responding to the location to pull the truck out of the ditch where it came to rest.

Trevor has been married for more than 26 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and has 13 children and 12 – soon to be 13 – grandchildren.
