Joshua Javier, 14, was last seen after he was involved in a “verbal altercation” with his mother and left his residence, according to police officials.
“Joshua Javier has a history of mental health issues and has made statements threatening to harm himself,” officials explained in a social media request for assistance.
City of Beaumont emergency dispatchers received a call reporting Javier as missing about 4:37 p.m.
Joshua, who was last seen in the Estrella Community walking in the direction of Cherry Avenue, north of Oak Valley Parkway, has been described as a Hispanic juvenile, about 5’3″ tall, approximately 145 pounds, with pierced ears and wavy brown hair.
He was last seen wearing a green Army jacket and grey jeans.
Police officials used a reverse 911 system earlier this evening to call all Beaumont area residents to inform them about the missing juvenile.
Officials have asked that if Joshua is located citizens do not attempt to detain him, but to immediately contact the Beaumont Police Department by dialing 911 or the department’s non-emergency line at (951) 769-8500.
