JURUPA VALLEY: Man arrested after allegedly stealing from City Hall employees
JURUPA VALLEY – Sheriff’s officials arrested a man after he allegedly stole personal property from Jurupa Valley City Hall employees. Officials later recovered the stolen property while taking the suspect into custody, according to sheriff’s officials.

Special Enforcement Team members from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Jurupa Valley Police Station arrested Castro Albino Silveira, 33, of Jurupa Valley, after they began investigating the thefts, Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant Donovan Brooks explained in a written press release after Silveira’s arrest.
The investigation began May 1, after Jurupa Valley City Hall employees contacted sheriff’s officials to report the thefts. The investigation was turned over to the Jurupa Valley Special Enforcement Team the following day.
“Through the collaborative efforts of city employees and SET members, a possible suspect was quickly identified,” Brooks explained. Following investigative leads, SET members located and arrested Silveira in the 9000 block of Mission Boulevard in Jurupa Valley.
While taking Silveira into custody, SET members located and recovered the stolen property, which they later returned to city employees, according to Brooks.
Brooks did not specify what was stolen; however the value was later determined to be more than $950, the amount required by law to qualify as a felony theft.
An online jail records search revealed Silveira was was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on suspicion of theft of property over $950, possession of stolen property, theft with priors and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Silveira remains in custody, held on $25,000 bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned at the Riverside Hall Of Justice May 4.
