REDDING — A parolee was arrested after allegedly “exposing himself and committing lewd acts in public,” Thursday morning, Sept. 14. The incident and arrest happened in the 500 block of North Market Street, between Benton and Arboretum Drives, in Redding.

After an investigation, Redding police officers arrested Daniel Fauston Bonnie 27, of Redding. Bonnie, who was already on State parole for robbery, was later booked into Shasta County Jail for indecent exposure and for violating the terms and conditions of his parole.

The incidents and arrest happened “in close proximity” to the Turtle Bay School campus; however, none of the kindergarten through eighth grade students at the school could not see the alleged suspect’s lewd acts, Redding Police Sergeant Les James explained in a written press release.

Redding police officers were dispatched to the area about 8:07 a.m., after SHASCOM emergency dispatchers “received as many as six calls” from witnesses reporting Bonnie’s lewd acts, said James.

While Redding PD officers were headed to the area, off-duty, California Highway Patrol Officer Phillip Moyer observed the crime occurring and he detained and held Bonnie until officers arrived to take custody of the suspect.

Anyone with information about this incident or Bonnie’s criminal activities is encouraged to contact Redding Police Sergeant James at (530) 225-4200. Callers can refer to incident file number 17-67863 and can remain anonymous.
