REDDING: Officials investigating after shooting victim brought to hospital

REDDING — Officials have confirmed they are conducting an investigation after a shooting victim showed up at Shasta Regional Medical Center for treatment, early Saturday morning, Sept. 23.

The victim, who Redding police officers identified as Tristan Jon Taylor, 19, of Redding, “had been shot once through the leg with a handgun just prior to arriving at the hospital,” Redding Police Sgt. Shawn McGinnis explained in a written press release.

The investigation began about 3 a.m., after hospital officials contacted SHASCOM to inform them regarding the shooting victim. When police responded to the hospital they learned Taylor was being treated or a single gunshot wound. His condition was listed as stable.

While investigating the shooting incident, officers interviewed witnesses, who “gave several conflicting statements regarding what happened,” said McGinnis.

Trevor has been married for more than 27 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and has 13 children and 14 grandchildren.
