RIVERSIDE: Man shot multiple times dies at hospital, officials investigating
RIVERSIDE — Details are still emerging, but officials have confirmed they are investigating the shooting death of a man that happened on the 3500 block of Eucalyptus Avenue near Fifth Street in Riverside. According to officials, the victim was shot multiple times, early Saturday morning, Jan. 20.

Riverside Police and Fire personnel and other emergency first responders were dispatched to a home about 2:46 a.m., after City of Riverside’s Dispatch Center received a 911 call regarding a shooting that just occurred at the home.
When officials arrived they found a Hispanic male adult at the home who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
After paramedics stabilized the victim, American Medical Response medics rushed him to Riverside Community Hospital, where he died shortly after arriving.
Officials have not released the victim’s name or any other information, pending further investigation and notification of the man’s family.
Detectives from Riverside PD’s Robbery – Homicide Unit and Gang Intelligence Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. They were assisted by members of the department’s Forensics Unit, Riverside County District Attorney’s Office and Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner officials.
While officials worked at the crime scene, Eucalyptus Avenue was blocked off by crime scene tape and officials could be seen throughout the morning and well into the afternoon searching for, documenting and collecting evidence, talking to area residents and searching for possible witnesses. The roadway, which was closed between Fifth and Sixth Streets, was reopened several hours later.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
