BREAKING: Officials investigating woman’s “suspicious death” inside San Jacinto home

SAN JACINTO — Officials have released almost no details other than to confirm they are conducting a death investigation after a woman’s deceased body was found inside a San Jacinto home, earlier this evening. The woman’s body was found inside a private residence on the 2200 block of Purple Finch Court near Sweet Clover Loop, southeast of Ward Park and the intersection of W. 7th Street and S. Sanderson Avenue.

Citing their ongoing investigation, which is still in its earliest stages, officials have not released the victim’s name or what led to the woman’s discovery, pending further investigation and notification of her family.

Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s San Jacinto Police Station responded to the home shortly before 8 p.m., after receiving a 911 call from a person who reported finding “an adult female deceased at (the) residence,” Riverside Sheriff’s Deputy Mike Vasquez explained in a telephone interview as the investigation was still getting underway.

Official radio traffic at the time indicated Cal Fire/Riverside County firefighters and paramedics were requested to stage nearby for a victim with a possible gun shot wound. However, sheriff’s officials have not confirmed that a gun was involved or that the woman died after being shot.

Shortly after deputies arrived at the home, described as a newer, two-story residence at the end of a small cul-de-sac, they requested medical personnel to respond to the home. Firefighters and paramedics were soon ushered inside, but were then observed leaving the residence within minutes.

The woman was not transported from the scene and her body remained at the home, awaiting Sheriff-Coroner officials, who were summoned to the scene, along with investigators from the Hemet and San Jacinto Sheriff’s Stations.

Within minutes officials began establishing a crime scene, cordoning off the entire cul-de-sac with crime scene tape.

Many neighbors and area residents, curious about the sudden and unexpected activity, were seen standing in small clusters while talking about what they had seen or heard and what they believed might have happened inside the home.

While officials worked at the scene, two vehicles – a newer GMC pickup truck and newer Honda sedan – sat in the home’s driveway, awash in red and blue flashing emergency lights.

“At this time we are investigating (the incident as) a suspicious death,” said Vasquez.

Officials are expected to remain at the scene throughout the evening and well into morning and more details are expected to be released by sheriff’s officials at a later point in their investigation, which is active and ongoing.

This is a developing story that will be updated as additional information becomes available.
