EASTVALE: 74-year-old found dead inside car at popular park

EASTVALE — Officials say they are conducting a death investigation after a man’s lifeless body was found inside a car parked at Eastvale’s Harada Heritage Park yesterday afternoon.

The park, which is located at 13099 65th Street, is the largest Eastvale-area park and features a large skate park, basketball courts and sports fields, playground and picnic areas, a concession stand and dog park. The park also features parking lots on three of its four sides.

Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Eastvale Police Station and other emergency first responders were dispatched to a medical aid call at the park just minutes before noon, Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant Julio De Leon explained in a press release. A 911 caller told emergency dispatchers they had spotted an elderly man sitting unresponsive inside a vehicle.

When officials arrived they determined a 74-year-old Eastvale resident was deceased inside his car, which was parked in the parking lot. Officials have not released the man’s name, pending further investigation and notification of his family.

Eastvale investigators responded to the scene and assumed the death investigation, which is active and ongoing.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is encouraged to contact Detective Peters from the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station at (951) 955-2600. Callers can refer to incident file number EV180590042 and can remain anonymous. Citizens may also submit a tip using the Sheriff’s CrimeTips online form.
