THERMAL: Man dies from injuries after family disturbance
THERMAL — Sheriff’s officials have confirmed they are investigating a family disturbance that ended with a 35-year-old man’s death, Monday morning, Mar. 12. According to officials, the man died from injuries he sustained prior to the disturbance at the family’s Thermal home.
Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s officials have identified Alejandro Rodriguez, of Thermal, as the man who died about one hour after deputies responded to a private residence after receiving reports of a family disturbance at the home.
A coroner’s release indicated Rodriguez was pronounced deceased at 8:25 a.m. by emergency room staff at John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Indio. According to the release, Rodriguez’ date and time of injury are listed as unknown and pending further investigation
Emergency first responders were dispatched to a home on the 65000 block of Harrison Street near Echols Road just before 7:30 a.m., after a person called 911 to report a disturbance at the residence, Sergeant Ben Ramirez explained in a press release the day after the deadly incident.
When deputies arrived they found Rodriguez “being restrained by family members.” Deputies requested medical personnel respond to the home due to injuries the male sustained “prior to the family altercation,” said Ramirez
AMR medics rushed Rodriguez to JFK Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and died about an hour later.
Based on the circumstances, investigators from the Thermal Station and Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded to the home and assumed the investigation. Their investigation is active and ongoing.
