Riverside County Sheriff’s and Cal Fire/Riverside County firefighters along with AMR medics were dispatched to the fast food restaurant, after receiving reports of a shooting victim outside the location. Initial reports indicated the victim was shot at least twice, in the shoulder and abdominal area.
According to witnesses at the scene, when emergency crews arrived they found the shoeless, shirtless and bleeding victim up and pacing around. Medical personnel immediately began treating injuries to the man’s chest and abdomen. The man’s shoes were later found in the restaurant’s parking lot, next to curb along one of the restaurant’s side walks.
While firefighter/paramedics treated the injured man, deputies assigned to the Moreno Valley Police Station were seen seeking out and interviewing potential witnesses while others used their flashlights to check bushes and walkways outside and around the restaurant, which closed at 9 p.m., and was not open at the time of the shooting.
AMR medics eventually transported the victim by ground ambulance to Riverside University Health System in Moreno Valley. He was reported to be in stable condition.
It’s still unclear if the shooting occurred at or near the restaurant’s parking lot, or if the victim went to the restaurant seeking help after being shot somewhere else. Sheriff’s officials have not yet released any information regarding the incident or their ongoing investigation.
This is a developing story that will be update as new information becomes available.
