One dead after triple shooting, officials seeking Perris suspect
PERRIS — Authorities are searching for a Perris man they allege shot two men and a woman, Friday evening, Aug. 3. One of the trio shot later died from his injuries, according to sheriff’s officials. The deadly triple shooting happened in a residential neighborhood on the 21000 block of Martin St., between Brown and Haines Streets, in Perris.

Deputies assigned to the Perris Police Station responded to the scene about 7:50 p.m., after receiving reports of the shooting, Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant Steve Brosche explained in a press release after the incident.

When they arrived, officials found a chaotic scene and two men and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. All three victims were rushed to an area hospital to receive treatment for their injuries.
“Shortly after arriving at the hospital, Emanuel Govea, 24 years, died from injuries sustained during the shooting,” Brosche explained. “The other two victims remain at the hospital where they are recovering from their injuries.”
Based on the circumstances, investigators from the Perris Station and the Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. During their subsequent investigation officials interviewed witnesses, developed leads, and gathered information that led them to identify Raul Vega, 47, of Perris, as the alleged shooter.
Despite their efforts, officials have not yet located Vega. He reportedly fled the scene of the shooting in a 2002, silver Honda Accord, with a CA license plate of 4XLE473.

Vega is considered armed and dangerous, according to Brosche, who explained that all investigative leads are being followed up on in an effort to locate and arrest Vega.
