Man dead, woman critically injured, after domestic violence related officer involved shooting

CORONA — A man is dead and a woman was critically injured during a Corona domestic violence and shooting incident that eventually led to an officer involved shooting last night. The deadly incident happened Tuesday evening, Nov. 6, on the 2600 block of Tundar Circle, just east of Rock Vista and Promenade Parks.

Corona PD officers responded to a call regarding a domestic violence dispute with reports of shots fired at a home just after 8:30 p.m. The initial call was soon followed by an additional call of domestic violence involving an injured female and a male suspect who was possibly armed with a rifle.

Based on the circumstances, officers from around the city converged on the scene. Officials brought with them an armored tactical rescue vehicle, which officers eventually positioned in the driveway outside the residence where the incident and shots fired had been reported.

After surrounding the residence and closing down the neighborhood, officers began communications with the alleged suspect, at which time an officer involved shooting occurred, Corona PD Sgt. Chad Fountain later reported.

The alleged suspect succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased, and officers recovered a rifle at the scene, according to Fountain.

Medical personnel were eventually able to treat the woman involved in the initially reported shooting and determined she had “injuries consistent with gunshot wounds,” said Fountain. She was rushed to an area hospital, where she remains in critical condition. Officials have not specified how or when the woman received her injuries.

No officers were injured during the incident, which is still under investigation.

He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 28 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 14 – but soon to be 16 – grandchildren.
