Redding police officers were dispatched to the store after receiving reports that a man, later identified as Joseph Rivera, 38, had exposed himself to multiple employees and patrons, RPD said in a written press release after Rivera’s arrest.

When officers arrived, shoppers directed them to Rivera who was still inside the store. One of the patrons positively identified Rivera as the person who was exposing himself and agreed to make a citizen’s arrest.

Rivera was subsequently arrested and booked into the Shasta County jail. Jail records later indicated Rivera was released with a citation within hours of his arrest.
