Woman’s body found on MV’s Box Springs Mtn Rd

MORENO VALLEY — Central Homicide Unit investigators have assumed the investigation after a woman’s body was found in the Moreno Valley area yesterday afternoon, Tuesday, April 23. The victim’s body was discovered in the 9000 block of Box Springs Mountain Rd.

Deputies assigned to the Moreno Valley Station were dispatched to the area shortly after noon, after receiving reports of a deceased female, Riverside Sheriff’s Sgt. Ben Ramirez later reported. Sources from the scene indicate the woman’s body was possibly discovered on private property by a homeowner who was grading the land to move a mobile home onto the property when the person discovered the woman’s body.

When deputies arrived they found the woman’s lifeless body and pronounced her deceased at the scene. Deputies quickly secured the area as a crime scene and requested Moreno Valley Station investigators responded to assist with what officials later called a “suspicious death” investigation.

Based on the circumstances, including where and how the victim’s body was discovered, Central Homicide Unit investigators were requested and ultimately assumed the investigation. A Sheriff’s mobile command center was soon brought to the scene and officials spent much of the remainder of the day day scouring the area for and collecting possible evidence related to the woman’s death and discovery.

“The victim is believed to be a female adult, unknown age or race,” Ramirez later reported. “The victim has not yet been identified … and no further information will be released at this time.”

The sheriff’s investigation is active and ongoing.

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 28 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 15 – but soon to be 16 – grandchildren.
