Minor injuries after pickup crashes into tree on 299E
BURNEY — Minor injuries have been reported after a pickup truck crashed into a tree in Burney just east of Johnson Park this afternoon, Sunday, Oct. 6. Official radio traffic and a CHP incident log indicated the solo-vehicle accident happened on SR-299E near Rocky Ranch Rd, about a half mile west of the junction of SR-299E and SR-89.

CHP and other emergency personnel were first alerted to the crash around 1:45 p.m., after receiving reports that a Dodge pickup had run off the roadway and crashed into a tree.
When officials arrived they found a pickup truck that crashed into a tree, causing minor injuries to the driver, according to CHP’s incident log.
A local tow company called to the scene reported a flatbed tow vehicle would be needed and that they were unable to handle recovering the vehicle, at which time a tow truck was requested to respond to the accident from Redding.
No significant delays in travel times have been reported as a result of the crash and vehicle recovery.
As of this report, officials were still working at the scene and no other details have been released.

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.
Trevor has been married for more than 29 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 15 – but soon to be 16 – grandchildren.
