Anderson traffic stop leads to drugs – One arrested

ANDERSON, Calif. — Authorities say an Anderson traffic stop led to the discovery and seizure of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and items associated with the sell of illegal narcotics early this morning, Wednesday, Sept. 2. Officials say a Redding man was arrested and charges are pending against an Anderson woman as a result of the traffic stop.

At around 1:12 a.m., an Anderson police officer conducted a traffic stop on a 2016 red Nissan.

“The registered owner of the vehicle was a known drug dealer and on felony probation,” Anderson PD wrote in a social media release.

Officers found two people inside the vehicle, including the driver, since identified as Theresa Stein, 33, of Anderson, and passenger, Michael Langlois, 32, of Redding.

Anderson police officers arrested Michael Langlois, of Redding, after he was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and items associated with the sale of illegal narcotics.

While questioning Stein and Langlois, both admitted to officers that there was drug paraphernalia in the vehicle, according to officials.

“A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed numerous hypodermic syringes, a methamphetamine pipe, a digital scale, and hidden under the back seat officers located 3 zip-lock bags containing a combined weight of approximately an ounce of methamphetamine,” officials said in their release.

“Langlois admitted the methamphetamine belonged to him and he was possessing it to sell,” officials explained; saying, ” Langlois was arrested for the possession and transportation of methamphetamine with the intent to sell.”

Stein was later released from the scene with charges to be filed against her at a later date.

Shasta County online jail records indicate Langlois was no longer in custody as of this report.
