City of Anderson police officers began searching for Spade around 7:45 a.m. Wednesday morning after investigating a stabbing that had just occurred in the 2000 block of South Barney Drive, Anderson PD reported at the time.

The victim suffered multiple lacerations on her body during the attack and Spade had already fled the area prior to officers’ arrival. Although officials searched the area for Spade, who was determined to be a convicted felon with an active felony warrant for his arrest, they were not able to locate him at the time; prompting them to ask for the public’s help in locating him.

Two days later, at around 5:45 a.m., officers received a tip from a citizen that they had possibly just been contacted by Spade, who asked to use the man’s cell phone.

An officer who responded to the area soon located Spade, who immediately became confrontational and told the officer “that he wanted them to shoot him.”

Despite his resistance, responding officers were able to safely apprehend Spade without incident.
