Non-profit Think Together hiring 250 new program leaders in Moreno Valley

MORENO VALLEY, Calif. — Think Together, California’s leading nonprofit provider of afterschool, expanded learning and school improvement programs, is hiring 250 new program leaders and site staff for its summer program in support and partnership with Moreno Valley Unified School District’s Summer Learning Academy and the City of Moreno Valley’s 21st Century Community Learning Center grant.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Think Together and Moreno Valley Unified School District to offer a summer expanded learning program that’s safe and fun for all,” said Dr. Yxstian Gutierrez, Mayor of Moreno Valley. “The program provides students with a chance to reengage in the classroom with their peers, teachers and program leaders and that’s an invaluable opportunity to provide parents, families and the community.”

Program leaders work directly with students in a classroom setting, educating students with Camp Invention, an engaging, hands-on STEM curriculum that is being provided by Moreno Valley Unified School District. Camp Invention is research-based and standards-aligned – and offers students the ability to think critically and creatively as they develop solutions to problems they are facing.

“This year, we have over 10,000 students registered for our Superintendent’s Expanded Summer Learning Academy, more than we have ever had before,” said Superintendent Dr. Martinrex Kedziora. “We are proud to be able to continue our partnership with Think Together to help students stay engaged with their education throughout the summer, which will better prepare students to return in the fall.”

Think Together is looking for those who are 18 years or older, have a high school diploma, and enjoy working directly with kids. Moreno Valley Unified School District’s Summer Learning Academy started June 21, 2021 and runs until July 23, 2021 at each of the district’s elementary schools. Interested applicants should be available from 11:00 a.m. – 2:15 p.m. daily, Monday through Friday, for program roles.

“The great thing about Think Together is we’re always looking for internal growth opportunities,” said Rupa Patel, Strategic Projects Specialist for Human Capital at Think Together. “A lot of the people that are in our director positions currently, started out as program leaders.”
