Two people & dog pulled from partially submerged vehicle during Desert Center water rescue
DESERT CENTER, Calif., — Two people and a dog were successfully rescued after their vehicle ended up partially submerged in a water canal Friday evening, July 30. The accident and subsequent water rescue happened near the Powerline Road and Red Cloud Mine Road exit of the eastbound I-10.

California Highway Patrol, CAL FIRE-Riverside, and other emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene around 8:30 p.m., according to a social media release from the department.
Responding officials found a vehicle partially submerged in three feet of flowing water, with two occupants and a dog trapped inside the vehicle.
CHP’s H60 responded to the scene to assist in the water rescue and officials reported around 11 p.m. that both occupants and their dog had been successfully extricated from the partially submerged vehicle.
“The patients were evaluated by paramedics at the scene and refused further medical care,” CAL FIRE later reported.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation and officials have not released any further information.

During his time with the sheriff’s department, Trevor worked at several different stations; including Robert Presley Detention Center, Southwest Station in Temecula, Hemet/Valle Vista Station, Ben Clark Public Safety Training Center, and Lake Elsinore Station; along with other locations.
Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.
Trevor has been married for more than 30 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 18 grandchildren.
