Red Bluff traffic stop uncovers meth, handgun – Local man arrested

RED BLUFF, Calif., — Authorities in Red Bluff say a traffic stop led to the arrest of a local man who was found to be in possession of a significant quantity of methamphetamine, along with drug use and sales related paraphernalia and a handgun late Friday night, Oct. 1.

A City of Red Bluff police officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of Paskenta and Luther roads shortly after 11 p.m. and detained the driver, Marin Acevedo Jr, 36, of Red Bluff.

During the stop, RBPD’s K-9 “Aries” was requested to the location to assist in conducting a “sniff” of the vehicle, officials have since said in a social media release that announced, “K-9 Aries was working hard last night!”

“K-9 Aries alerted to the odor of narcotics inside the vehicle and officers then conducted a search,” RBPD described; adding, “We located 13 ounces of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, a scale, and a handgun.”

Based on their investigation and findings, Acevedo was booked into the Tehama County Jail on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sale, transportation of a controlled substance for sale, and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Online jail records show he has since been released from custody.

During his time with the sheriff’s department, Trevor worked at several different stations; including Robert Presley Detention Center, Southwest Station in Temecula, Hemet/Valle Vista Station, Ben Clark Public Safety Training Center, and Lake Elsinore Station; along with other locations.

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 30 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 18 grandchildren.

This shmuck was carrying a GUN and they release him?? What’s the point? Our law enforcement standards need to go back to being very “TOUGH ON CRIME and CRIMINALS.” This entire arrest and release BS s becoming a JOKE!!
