Mead Valley rear-end collision leaves vehicle overturned, roadway blocked
MEAD VALLEY, Calif., — A two-vehicle rollover crash in Mead Valley reportedly left several people injured after a motorist slammed into the back of another vehicle and overturned Thursday morning, Dec. 30.
The accident, which caused major delays in travel times for area residents and morning commuters, happened near the intersection of Cajalco and Decker roads, according to witnesses.

California Highway Patrol, Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Cal Fire – Riverside and other emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene shortly after 11 a.m. after receiving reports of an injury collision with rollover.

When officials arrived, they found two involved vehicles, since described as a white Nissan Altima with major rear-end damage blocking the roadway and a dark-colored Mazda sedan overturned on its roof on the eastbound shoulder of Cajalco Road.
Vehicle parts and debris were left scattered across the roadway, leaving the Cajalco Road temporarily impassable, but the roadway has since been cleared and reopened.
No information about those injured in the collision were immediately available and CHP’s investigation into the cause of the rear-end crash is continuing.

During his time with the sheriff’s department, Trevor worked at several different stations; including Robert Presley Detention Center, Southwest Station in Temecula, Hemet/Valle Vista Station, Ben Clark Public Safety Training Center, and Lake Elsinore Station; along with other locations.
Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.
Trevor has been married for more than 30 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 18 grandchildren.
