Hemet Burglar Arrested Just Weeks Ago, Arrested Again
Hemet, Calif.; On October 31, an officer from the Hemet Police Department arrested a couple for multiple felony charges.
At about 11:00 am, a Hemet Police Officer responded to the report of suspicious activity in the 900 block of E. Morton Pl., in the city of Hemet.
When the officer arrived, he located two subjects who were dismantling their vehicle in the parking lot. The officer noticed a child in the vehicle who was unsecured and climbing around in the rear seat of the car and saw that the car was filthy and an unsafe environment for a child.
During the investigation the officer discovered the couple had numerous pieces of expensive, high-end camera equipment in their possession. The officer was able to track the property back to a previously reported residential burglary in the 200 block of S. Yale.
Both subjects were arrested and the child was taken into protective custody by CPS. All of the property was later returned to the burglary victim.
A press release from the Hemet Police Department stated, “It should be noted this is the same couple that Hemet police officers arrested in October for breaking into the Bank of Hemet Building and attempting to steal fuel from a van that was in the parking garage. They were released from Riverside County Jail on that case due to jail overcrowding.”
Michael Lee Walker, a 31-year-old resident of Riverside, was arrested and charged with Possession of stolen property and child endangerment.
Whitney Pryor, a 22-year-old resident of Hemet, was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property and child endangerment

Hemet resident, burglary suspect arrested
Suspect was caught drilling hole into vehicle fuel tank

Hemet, Calif.; On October 17, 2015, at around 1:51 a.m., officers from the Hemet Police Department responded to the report of a suspicious person at a business located at 1600 E. Florida Avenue, in the city of Hemet.
Upon arrival, responding officers immediately noticed that a metal roll up gate for the parking lot on the east side of the building had been damaged and pried open. Officers immediately set up a perimeter around the property and surrounded the building.
With the building surrounded and with officers strategically placed around the perimeter, the suspect was suddenly spotted as he ran through the parking area, attempting to flee the area through a pedestrian gate. The suspect, later identified as Michael Lee Walker, a resident of Hemet, was immediately taken into custody without further incident.
The officer’s investigation revealed Walker had forced open the east roll up gate to the parking area, gaining access to the vehicles parked inside. Walker then drilled into the fuel tank of a parked van belonging to the business. Walker used this stolen fuel to fill up his vehicle, which he had left parked on the north side of the building, before returning back into the parking area.
Extensive damage was done both to the roll up gate and to the vehicle that was parked in the lot. Walker was booked at the Hemet Police Department for burglary and vandalism and was later transported to Riverside County Jail, where he was being held in lieu of $5,000 bail.
It has not yet been officially announced if this arrest and case could be related to the string of similar fuel thefts that have recently been occurring in the Hemet and San Jacinto areas, one of which resulted in a spectacular vehicle blaze that occurred at the Penske Truck Rental at WW Feed in Hemet on September 29, 2015. In each of those other cases, as with this case, one or more suspects drilled into the fuel tanks of vehicles, in order to drain the tanks of their fuel.

We have so much crime in Hemet and a smaller PD and then to turn them loose, pitiful. The police work very hard to what results. Must be very frustrating for the police and the residents.
Good luck to everyone, whose next to be violated or killed. Keep dumping the criminals here it makes all of us happy. Good luck P.D.
I have one phrase for you to explain all this nonsense….AB109. Simply Disgusting!!!
AB109 and Prop.47 are two of the WORST propositions to ever happen to this state, and they need to be thrown out as soon as possible.
There is another horrible anti-law abiding citizens proposition about to be forced down our unwilling throats in 2016 too, which Gov.Crusty signed sometime back, and was kept very hush hush, but as of January of this next year it will begin implementation.
I’m not sure I quite understand it in its entirety, but the end result will mean that illegal aliens who have committed crimes will be more difficult for us to deport.
Has this country gone completely insane?
Yes!
We need to increase our Police dept 3 fold & the sheriff dept as well. I was told by one officer that only 3 sheriff officers are on patrol from Anza, Idyllwild, Hemet to Nuevo. Can’t expect much security knowing that. And somehow stop the influx of criminals, sex offenders and other undesirables into our valley. If I knew who to write and complain to, I would do it. Publish that info so we can all respond to the appropriate agencies responsible. Law makers, congress, whomever it is. I reside in the Valley Vista area and it’s getting horrible out here. I can’t even vote on city matters because I live in the county. Yet Hemet is my town & I must sit back and watch the implosion of what was once a peaceful and enjoyable place to live. Shameful and sad.
