LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. — Officials investigating the murder of a Wildomar man in Lake Elsinore Sunday afternoon, Nov. 8, say they have identified and arrested a man they allege was involved in the victim’s murder.

The victim, 19-year-old, Blake Paine, was rushed to an area hospital with a gunshot wound where he later passed away; and officials say the believe other people may have been involved in the fatal shooting, which happened in the 100 block of Riley Street, between W. Graham and W. Heald avenues

In an updated press release regarding the deadly shooting, Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant Steve Brosche said, “Joshua Emanuel Navarro, an 18-year-old male from Lake Elsinore, was arrested for his involvement in the murder of Blake Paine.”

Navarro was arrested at 1 p.m., Nov. 9, the day after the fatal encounter, according to Broshe; who said, “Investigators are continuing to work all leads and believe there may be additional suspects outstanding.”

Online jail records indicate Navarro was arrested at a residence on W. Limited Avenue in Lake Elsinore and booked into Cois Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta on suspicion of second-degree murder, as well as assault with a firearm and possession of an illegal assault weapon.

He remains in custody in lieu of $1 million bail or bond.

LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. — Authorities today are continuing to investigate the murder of a Wildomar man who was fatally shot in Lake Elsinore Sunday afternoon, Nov. 8.

Although very few details have been released, the deadly shooting happened in the 100 block of Riley Street, between W. Graham and W. Heald avenues.

Deputies from the Lake Elsinore Station responded to the scene around 4:30 p.m., after receiving reports  of a shooting, Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant Steve Brosche has since said of the man’s murder.

“When deputies arrived, they located an adult male who appeared to have been shot,” Brosche reported; adding, “The victim was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.”

The victim has since been identified as 19-year-old, Blake Paine, of Wildomar.

The suspect(s) fled the area prior to deputies arrival and are still outstanding, according to Brosche, who did not say if there was a known motive for the deadly shooting or what may have led to the fatal incident.
