Riverside PD Offering $75,000 Reward For Information In Double Homicide

The Riverside Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in a double homicide investigation. The department is offering a $75,000 reward for information leading to the identification and the apprehension of the person(s) responsible for the shooting deaths of Juan Antonio Bartolo and Domingo Esteban. The murders occurred on Friday, October 23.

At about 9:36 p.m., The Riverside Police Department Dispatch Center received numerous calls regarding a shooting that occurred at the corner of 7th and Kansas, in the city of Riverside.

When officers arrived they found three victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The first victim, Juan Antonio Bartolo, of Riverside was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency first responders.

The second victim, Domingo Esteban, of Riverside was transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The third victim was treated at the scene before being transported to a local hospital.  The third victim, who has not been identified, is reportedly recovering from his injuries.

Detectives from the Riverside Police Department Homicide Unit, Gang Unit and personnel from the Forensic Evidence Unit have been actively investigating this homicide. Their investigation has revealed that a vehicle pulled up to the curb on 7th Street near Kansas and parked.

According to police officials, the suspect got out of the passenger seat and walked up to the third victim who was standing on the corner and shot him, without provocation. Bartolo and Esteban were walking on 7th Street near Kansas when they passed the suspect. After the initial shooting the suspect ran back to the suspect vehicle. The driver then got out of the suspect vehicle and fired several shots at Bartolo and Esteban, killing both men.

According to officials from the Riverside Police Department, none of the three victims had any known gang affiliation and it is not known what might have prompted the fatal shootings.

The suspect vehicle has been described as a dark, mid 2000’s, mid-sized sedan, similar to a Dodge charger.

The first suspect is described as a black male adult in his 20’s, approximately six feet tall, 180 pounds, medium build, wearing a hooded sweatshirt and pants. We do not have a description of the second suspect at this time.

During the ongoing investigation, a second vehicle that is possibly involved was seen in the area of the shooting. The vehicle is described as a maroon, early 2000’s, mid-sized sedan similar to a Honda accord.

The Riverside Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects involved in this double homicide. Detectives believe there were several witnesses to the homicides who have yet to come forward with information about the suspects.
