Hemet PD Seeking Assistance Regarding Homicide On Menlo and Buena Vista
HEMET – Hemet Police officers investigated a homicide that occurred in the area of Menlo Ave. East of Buena Vista St., in the city of Hemet Nov. 28. Police officials are asking for the public’s assistance regarding this incident.
The Hemet Police Department dispatch center received a call from a citizen about 3:50 a.m., who was reporting a man down. The caller reported the man appeared to be deceased.
Upon arrival, officers from the Hemet Police Department located a Hispanic male adult. Officers were able to determine the male had been deceased for some time. Based upon evidence at the scene, the death was immediately determined to be a homicide. No further description or identification has been provided for the victim yet, pending identification and notification of the victims family.
Detectives from the Hemet Police Department responded to the location and assumed the
investigation. As of this report, the investigation is ongoing and no further information was available to be released at this time.
The Hemet Police Department has asked for citizen’s assistance and is requesting that anyone who was in the area of Menlo Ave. and Buena Vista St. this morning at or around 3:50 am and might have information about this incident to please contact Corporal Gabe Gomez at (951) 765-2324.

Trevor Montgomery spent 10 years in the U.S. Army as an Orthopedic Specialist before joining the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department in 1998. He was medically retired after losing his leg in an off-duty accident.

Trevor has been married for more than 26 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and has 13 children and 12 – soon to be 13 – grandchildren.
I just recently found the Hemet/San Jacinto Crime Reporting on Facebook and the posted reports that you wrote have kept me informed and is greatly appreciated. I moved here in 2011 after retiring from the Air Force and still scratching my head why a town as small as Hemet/San Jacinto could be inundated with so many criminal elements. I have heard of the gossip about the arrangements made by local politicians with cities like Los Angeles with relocating “people”. I was hoping to find out if the local politicians reside in Hemet or San Jacinto and not just own property, but actually live in town and actually have skin in the game. I figure if they did, I doubt they would have made these arrangement unless of course they got paid (which makes it worse). Do you know or would you be able to find out? I have no intention of running for office but would like to confront them at council meetings and voice this out.
You absolutely nailed one of the main causes Ted. That plus AB 109 and the Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS-Also known as Early Fed-Kick) debacle that is ruining our little town as well as so many others.

As to the importing of criminals into our town from LA or other counties……is there any factual proof of that? I have been hearing this for the last few years. Has anyone in the local press or otherwise done an investigative report showing who specifically is responsible, voted for and profiting from such activities.
I cannot imagine with the names, dates, votes, planning and all related documents detailing who and how this has transpired, if true would not only be impeached out of office but run out of town on a rail!
Maybe I am ignorant to the way things are in local politics here in Hemet, but it doesn’t seem reasonable that a small handful of Hemet officials have or would be able to , on their own decimate this valley. If there is documentation regarding Local Hemet politicians being responsible I would be very interested to read it.
Reading the Public Safty Realingment documents “On July 1, 2013, the local courts will become the sole parole authority. Contracting back to the state for offenders to complete a period of parole revocation is not an option” etc. (http://www.cdcr.ca.gov/realignment/Parole-Revocations.html) it seems as it is mandated by the courts who gets out, when and where. It also reads…….Each county Board of Supervisors was required to designate a county agency to be responsible for post-release supervision and provide that information to CDCR by August 1, 2011. In turn, CDCR must notify counties of an individual’s release at least one month prior. Once the individual has been released, CDCR will no longer have jurisdiction over any person who is under post-release community supervision. No person shall be returned to prison on a parole revocation except for those life-term offenders who paroled pursuant to Penal Code § 3000.1 (Penal Code § 3056 states that only these offenders may be returned to state prison).
I would like to be able to discuss the topic of crime, parolees and the future of Hemet in a knowledgeable factual way and avoid miss-information. To equip those who care about the future of our valley to “push back” in an effectual way if at all possible……..which I believe it must be.

Very informative. I was one of the persons released to hemet to complete the Roc program which is an 18 month program and I completed successfully 09/27/12 and I see and hear about the damages or lost lives and its sickening I as a member of this community agree to voice out our concerns in hopes to find a solution.
