MORENO VALLEY: Man dead after fatal shooting according to sheriff’s investigators

MORENO VALLEY – A man was shot multiple times in Moreno Valley on Sunday, January 10. The victim later died from his injuries and has not yet been identified by coroner’s officials. No arrests have been made and no motive has been announced yet in the fatal shooting incident.
According to Sgt. Raymond Huskey of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, at 3:45 a.m., deputies from the Moreno Valley Police Station responded to the intersection of Oliver Street and Cactus Avenue, in the city of Moreno Valley, after a witness called 911 to report hearing several gunshots in the area. After hearing the gunshots, the 911 caller reported seeing a man who appeared to be injured in the street.
Officers arrived within moments of the initially dispatched call and located an unidentified adult male on the sidewalk who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was evaluated and treated at the scene by paramedics before being transported to a local area hospital.
According to Huskey, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the hospital and was pronounced dead by hospital staff.
Investigators from the Moreno Valley Police Station and the Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded to the location and assumed the investigation. The identity of the victim is being withheld at this time pending notification of his family. This investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released at this time.
