TEMECULA – A solo-vehicle motorcycle accident today left the rider of the motorcycle dead and the neighborhood where the incident occurred shaken. The accident occurred near Temeku Hills Park and Rancho Elementary School.
According to Sgt. Chad Loeffler, at about 3:10 p.m., deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Temecula Police Station responded to the area of Meadows Parkway and Spyglass Hill regarding the reported accident.
A preliminary investigation at the scene indicated the victim was riding a Yamaha motorcycle northbound on Meadows Parkway when he lost control of the motorcycle and collided with a tree located in the center median of the roadway. It was not immediately known what caused the rider to lose control of the motorcycle.
In a press release, Loeffler wrote the victim was not wearing a helmet or any other safety equipment at the time of the collision.
Emergency first responders attempted unsuccessfully to provide life saving efforts to the rider. “The driver and sole occupant of the motorcycle succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene,” Loeffler wrote about the fatal motorcycle collision.
As of this report, it had not been determined if drugs or alcohol played a part in this tragic accident.
The victim’s identification is pending notification of next of kin.
