HEMET: Two car collision sends one to hospital

HEMET – A minor injury traffic collision that occurred at the intersection of Florida Ave. and Gilbert St. sent one person to the hospital and left one vehicle with major damage. The victim was reportedly transported to a local area hospital with minor injuries.
Hemet Police, Hemet Fire and AMR responded to the collision after receiving multiple 911 calls regarding the accident. Upon arrival, they found the driver of the sedan sustained minor injuries and required medical treatment.
The two-car collision reportedly occurred when a Dodge truck slammed into the back of a four-door sedan. Both vehicles were travelling Eastbound on Florida when the accident occurred. The driver of the car that was struck was treated by paramedics at the scene for complaint of neck pain and was transported via ambulance to a hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
The driver of the truck was not injured and declined medical treatment at the scene. He was able to drive his vehicle away from the collision, following a police investigation into the accident.
No information was available regarding the cause of the accident and no details have been released regarding the status of the injured driver.
