MEAD VALLEY: Vehicle abandoned after sheering power pole in half

MEAD VALLEY – A solo-vehicle hit and run traffic collision left an Edison power pole sheered in half and a vehicle abandoned and running in the 20500 block of Oleander Avenue in the unincorporated community of Mead Valley early Saturday, Mar. 11.

The incident was reported to the California Highway Patrol emergency communications center at about 5:40 a.m. by a caller who told emergency dispatchers a vehicle had struck a power pole and that power lines were down on top of the car.

The abandoned car was described as an older, primer-grey, sub-compact, that was reportedly smoking badly after the accident. The caller also told emergency dispatchers that they saw an adult male, about 20-years-old and approximately 5’10” walking away from the crash scene.
