Man shot and killed in Moreno Valley alley
MORENO VALLEY – Sheriff’s investigators are conducting a homicide investigation after a man was shot and killed in a Moreno Valley alley on the evening of April 5, according to Riverside County Sheriff’s Sergeant Raymond Huskey.
At about 9:45 p.m., deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Moreno Valley Police Station were dispatched to the 15000 block of Perris Boulevard after someone called 911 to report hearing one or more gunshots and finding a man who had been shot in an alley.
Deputies and other emergency first responders rushed to the location and found an unidentified male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics treated the gunshot victim and transported him to a local hospital, according to Huskey. The man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Investigators from the Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation.
The investigation is ongoing and the victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of his family.
