Temecula bank robbery leads to swift arrest
TEMECULA – A bank robbery in Temecula April 13, led to the quick arrest of a Temecula resident, according to a sheriff official.
Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Temecula Police Station responded to the Wells Fargo Bank at the 27600 Block of Ynez Road in the City of Temecula shortly after 12:10 p.m., regarding a bank robbery that had just occurred
According to multiple witnesses, the suspect entered the bank and demanded money using a note he handed to one of the bank employees. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency, the suspect fled the area on foot, Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant Jon Wade wrote in a press release.
Temecula Police detectives responded and assisted with the investigation.
Police officials interviewed bank employees and witnesses. More than one eyewitness reported observing the suspect enter a nearby apartment complex, according to Wade.
During the investigation, eyewitnesses positively identified the robbery suspect as Kevin Santos, 28, of Temecula. Detectives later located and arrested Santos at the apartment complex he was seen entering.
Officials located and recovered evidence connecting Santos to the robbery while conducting their investigation. A records check revealed Santos was on active parole.
A jail records search revealed Santos was booked into the Southwest Detention Center for bank robbery and violating his parole.
