2 arrested after Riverside home invasion, sexual assault
Riverside Police detectives arrested Brandon Bobb for his alleged involvement in a home invasion and sexual assault that occurred April 22.
RIVERSIDE – Detectives from the Riverside Police Department’s Sexual Assault & Child Abuse Unit arrested two suspects as a result of a home invasion and sexual assault investigation. The original incident that led to the arrests occurred Tuesday, April 19, in the Canyon Crest neighborhood of Riverside.
With help from neighborhood watch groups, the two men who allegedly committed the robbery and sexual assault were quickly identified as Brandon Latrell Noel Bobb, 20, of Bloomington and Keshawn Marquis Amis, 20, of Riverside.
Officers located and arrested both subjects within days of the alleged incident. Both were booked into jail on multiple felony charges.
Lieutenant Val Graham, area commander for the East Neighborhood Policing Center, was quick to credit the city’s neighborhood watch groups with the swift identification that led to the arrest of the two men.
“The Riverside Police Department would like to thank those involved in the identification and apprehension of these two violent offenders,” Graham stated. “The established neighborhood watch is commended for their help in scaring the suspects away on the night of this incident. Those neighbors were instrumental with assisting the detectives with the case and their teamwork is greatly appreciated.”
According to Riverside Police officials, at about 2:15 a.m., April 19, two suspects allegedly entered an occupied residence in the Canyon Crest neighborhood southwest of the Canyon Crest Country Club golf course. The suspects allegedly sexually assaulted a female homeowner during the home invasion robbery.
Riverside Police detectives arrested Keshawn Amis for his alleged involvement in a home invasion and sexual assault that occurred April 22.
The victim told investigating officers she had awoken to the sound of her frantically barking dog, just before the suspects broke into her home, according to a police official. After the home invasion and sexual assault, the two suspected reportedly fled the residence, taking property and valuables from the victims home on their way out.
Officers obtained descriptions of both suspects and their vehicle from the victim. The victim was reportedly able to help with a composite sketch of one of the two alleged suspects.
With help from Riverside area neighborhood watch groups, detectives developed additional leads and gathered information that successfully led them to identify both suspects as well as the vehicle they were driving at the time of the incident.
officers located and arrested Bobb in the city of Riverside Friday, April 22. He was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for three felony charges related to the originally reported incident.
Officers located Amis two days later in the Rubidoux area, Sunday, April 24. When officers located Amis, they found he was in possession of the vehicle used during the alleged crime. Officers seized the vehicle as evidence. He was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for Robert Presley Detention Center for two felony charges.
A jail records search revealed Bobb was booked for suspicion of home invasion robbery, sexual battery and sexual penetration by force. He is being held in lieu of $150,000 bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned at the Riverside Hall of Justice on April 27.
Amis was booked for suspicion of home invasion robbery and false imprisonment with violence. He was released from jail on April 26, after posting $150,000 bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned at the Riverside Hall of Justice on June 28.
