COMMUNITY CORNER: “Help us save Tiger”
Tiger has always loved playing with his family and has always been a very loving cat.
A cat and its owner are in desperate need for help. “Our beloved Orange Tabby, “Tiger,” is an indoor cat. He is very lovable and means the world to us,” Dina Flyshur explained.
“When he started to get a growth on his left forearm, it started very small. At first, we thought nothing of it and thought it might heal on its own. One day I noticed the growth was starting to change colors and bleed. We went to the Pet Feed Store and bought him some antibiotics and bandage material so we could care for him at home.”
Doing their best with very limited financial resources, Tiger’s owners changed his bandage twice a day and gave him his daily antibiotics, but it always seemed moist and was not getting better. “No matter what we did to care for the wound, it just got bigger.”
Tiger’s owners recently took him to the vet to see if they could have the growth removed and to see what they thought would be best.
Tigers wound/growth started very small, but has grown and changed colors dramatically in recent weeks.
“I never expected the estimate to be as high as it is. I’m disabled and on Social Security Disability. We have done everything we could think of, but we don’t have the money the vets are asking for to complete this much-needed surgery, Flyshur explained. “Unfortunately, they do not take payments and we are not eligible for Care Credit. We’ve tried all options and nothing is available to us for less.” asking for a little over the estimate of $670 to allow for the necessary follow-up appointments. “We’re reaching out to the public for help in helping us raise this money so our Tiger can have the growth removed and get him the proper care he needs. We will be forever grateful to anyone or everyone that can help.” Flyshur said. “No donation is too small and any amount will be greatly appreciated!”

Tiger’s owners need to try to raise the necessary funds within 2-3 weeks before it gets worse. “If you can help by donating and sharing my post I will be very thankful and will pay it forward one day when we’re able to,” Flyshur said
The Flyshurs have created a Go Fund Me account to try to raise all or some of the necessary funds needed to have the growing and worsening wound and growth professionally and safely removed.

I know this story only all too well. I had the same experience when my beloved Doberman Pinscher got a huge tumor on the side of her face. I protected it by having her wear a Cone of Shame so she couldn’t scratch it and cause an infection. I found this thing was not getting any smaller, and not going away. She could not spend the rest of her life wearing her “crown,” so I had to had to get it surgically removed. I put it on my Care Credit, but I too am on small, fixed limited Social Security. I have no idea how I’ll be able to keep up with the payments either. I wish I could help, but at the moment, I am worried about being able to pay for my own large vet bill. I am very worried, about how I can pay this bill, but my dog means everything to me.
