Citizens’ tips lead to 2 arrested in Lake Elsinore burglaries
LAKE ELSINORE – Sheriff’s officials are crediting the arrest of two suspected burglars to 911 calls from concerned citizens who called to report what they believed was suspicious behavior, June 17. Deputies arrested the pair in the 45000 block of Promise Road in Lake Elsinore.
Justin Hart was arrested after two different citizens called 911 to report suspicious behavior.
Justin Tyler Hart, 26, of Temecula and Emily Jean Jager, 27, of Murrieta were arrested after deputies from the Riverside Sheriff’s Lake Elsinore Police Station responded to the area to investigate “a report of two suspicious people knocking on doors of homes in the area,” according to Riverside Sheriff Sergeant Brosche.
One 911 caller reported seeing a male jump into the backyard of a home on Anabelle Street. A second witness told emergency dispatchers they observed the suspects leaving and gave investigating deputies a description of the vehicle the pair left the area in.
Deputies arrived and located an open window to the residence that Hart was seen jumping a fence to gain access to and believed a burglary had either occurred or been attempted. Based on their investigation, deputies requested assistance from the sheriff’s Aviation Unit. The helicopter crew located the vehicle leaving the area. Deputies stopped the vehicle and detained two subjects, later identified as Hart and Jager.
During their investigation, deputies discovered Hart and Jager were in possession of tools typically used in residential burglaries. Based on the circumstances, the Lake Elsinore Theft Suppression Team assumed the investigation and were able to link Hart and Jager to another recent burglary.
Based on their findings, deputies arrested Hart and Jager.
Emily Jager was arrested after two different citizens called 911 to report suspicious behavior.
A records search revealed Hart was booked at the Southwest Detention Center on suspicion of conspiracy to commit a felony, false impersonation, residential burglary, violation of parole and three prior state felony enhancements. He is being held in lieu of $175,000.
Jager was booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional facility on suspicion of residential burglary and conspiracy to commit a felony. She is being held in lieu of $35,000 bail.
Both are scheduled to be in court again at the Riverside Hall of Justice, June 30.
“The Lake Elsinore Police Department thanks the public for their help with these two arrests, Brosche said. “(We) would like to remind everyone to report suspicious behavior in their neighborhoods.”
