UPDATE: Man killed in fatal solo-vehicle rollover accident identified

PERRIS – A man died in a fatal, single-vehicle rollover traffic accident on Mountain Avenue, about one-half mile west of Arrowhead Circle in Perris Thursday, July 21. The accident was reported to Riverside County dispatchers at about 5:17 p.m., according to Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant Edmondson

Coroner officials identified the victim as Anthony Valez, 33, of Perris. A Coroner’s release indicated Valez’ time of injury was about 5:10 p.m. Valez was pronounced dead at the scene at about 5:24 p.m.

Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Perris Police Station and other emergency first responders rushed to the location after receiving several 911 calls about the fatal rollover.

“The motorist lost control of the vehicle while westbound and overturned on the north roadway edge,” Edmondson explained.

Valez, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, sustained fatal injuries in the accident and he succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident. He was pronounced dead by paramedics.

“The Perris Traffic Reconstruction Unit responded to the location,” according to Edmondson. “Mountain Avenue between Arrowhead Circle and Sun Park Drive was temporarily closed during this investigation.”
