The Riverside County Coroner’s office has released the name of the man who was fatally struck in a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic accident July 29. Coroner’s officials identified the victim as James Hill, 21, of Hemet
According to Coroner’s officials, the man was struck at 5:37 a.m. as he was crossing the street outside of an established crosswalk. He was pronounced dead at 7:04 a.m., at Riverside University Health System, located at 26520 Cactus Avenue in Moreno Valley. His exact location of injury was determined to be on Ramona Expressway, about 300 feet west of State Street, San Jacinto.

SAN JACINTO – A pedestrian was killed when he was struck by a truck in San Jacinto Friday, July 29. The fatal vehicle versus pedestrian collision happened on Ramona Expressway near State Street.
The motorist was traveling eastbound on Ramona Expressway when he struck a male pedestrian attempting to cross the street, according to Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant Joel Wilson.
Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s San Jacinto Police Station responded to the deadly accident at 5:37 a.m., after multiple people called the Riverside County emergency communications center to report the collision.
Paramedics and other emergency first responders rushed to the location where they treated the victim before paramedics transported the man to a local hospital. The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by hospital staff. The man has not been identified pending notification of his family.
The San Jacinto Traffic Reconstruction Unit responded to the location to conduct an accident investigation. Eastbound Ramona Expressway, just west of State Street, was temporarily closed during their investigation.
