Man arrested in Hemet after breaking into medical center

HEMET – A man was arrested after breaking into the Hemet Community Medical Group Saturday, July 30. Officers responded to the location after an alert citizen called 911 at about 3:35 p.m. to report seeing the man attempting to gain entry into the building, located at 1565 W. Florida Avenue in Hemet.

When officers arrived they found the man, later identified as Jimmie Shelby Taylor, 43, of Hemet, inside the closed business.

Taylor fled on foot when officers arrived.

Officers pursued Taylor and took him into custody after they successfully deployed a Taser weapon.

Taylor, who is on Post Release Community Supervision for possession of a controlled substance, blamed his actions on “bad” dope.

Officers arrested Taylor and he was booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning.

A jail record search revealed Taylor was booked on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance, resisting a peace officer, trespassing, and violation of his Post Release Community Supervision terms.

He is being held without bail and is scheduled to be seen at an unspecified court Aug. 3.
