GOOD HOPE – Very few details have been released and little information is known after a man was found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound inside a vehicle in the unincorporated community of Good Hope Tuesday, Sept. 27. The victim and a vehicle that was shot was found in the area of Louise Street just west of Marie Street.

Good Hope is located west of Perris, just outside the city limits.

At about 2:15 a.m., officers with the California Highway Patrol located a white GMC SUV with an unidentified male who had been shot.

The white SUV was found on the north side of Louise St, with at least one bullet hole in the driver’s side of the front windshield. It was not immediately released if the vehicle was already parked or came to rest where it was discovered.

Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Lake Elsinore Station responded to the scene to assist CHP Officers in the shooting investigation.

When deputies arrived at the location, they located an adult male inside the vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound.

Paramedics evaluated and treated the victim at the scene before they transported him to a local hospital to be treated for his wounds.

The victim has not been identified and his condition is unknown at this time.

After the victim was transported to a hospital, deputies thoroughly searched his vehicle for evidence related to the shooting. While searching the SUV, deputies located and recovered a loaded shotgun from inside or near the SUV.
